Not Giving Up

I talked to a client today who’s been fired from several jobs at TLC. He’s been a manager, he’s worked security, he’s worked maintenance, and he’s been a driver. For some reason, even though he’s willing to work, he always ends up being replaced.

However, he does one thing perfectly: he stays clean and sober. He doesn’t let losing a job lead him back to alcohol or drugs.  He gets into acceptance about the changes in his life and continues to work his program.

While not everyone relapses when we replace them, it’s not unusual to see clients run away and get high over simply losing a job.

However,  this man’s level of acceptance when he’s facing adversity can be an example for all of us.
