Last year he was living on the streets. At times he was so
hungry he'd eat from a dumpster. He only had the clothes on his back. The only
time he had friends was when he was able to raise
money for dope. When the dope ran out, they left.
One day, though, he tired of the way he was living and made
a decision. He'd change his life no matter what it took. And he did.
The man, a TLC client, showed up in group
this week with a certificate from a local community college congratulating him
for completing preliminary course work. He’d been going to school for a few months,
preparing to study social work.
To look at this man one would never know he’d been in prison
for drug-related crimes or that he’d lived on the street and been homeless. He’
s changed his whole persona.
His success is an example how TLC helps those who are getting
off drugs and alcohol and back into the world.
