Dedication was the topic for last Sunday’s monthly manager’s meeting. Once minutes were read and business was completed everyone in the circle shared.
One thing that came out is that many of our staff members are dedicated to TLC because it’s one of the few places where they’ve found someone who cares about them.
As the meeting progressed staffers cited examples of how they'd been helped by other members of TLC staff.
A staff member who had been assaulted recently said that within minutes of her phone call to her supervisor there were half a dozen staff members on the property to support her. She was overwhelmed at the response
Another staff member, who was recently in the hospital for several days, said so many people came to visit he could hardly get any sleep.
Other staff member cited examples of how they've been helped through financial difficulties or with medical issues.
Our experience at TLC has been that as people stay with the organization they become closer to the other members of our family. Even though no one gets paid very well the experience of working with dedicated and supportive people makes them want to stay.
And some have been with the organization between 15 and 20 years.
